“Any child old enough to love is old enough to grieve.” Dr. Alan Wolfelt

Camp Mend-A-Heart is FREE to any eligible child age 6 to 16 that has experienced the loss of a loved one, regardless of income. It is a Day Camp from 9:00 to 3:00, at Solid Rock Bible Camp.

Camp Mend-A-Heart breaks the isolation many children feel when trying to deal with grief. Our age-appropriate grief groups provide a safe space to share. Our hands-on activities allow additional ways to express grief.

Our camp ratio is one adult to two campers, insuring caring support for each camper.

While providing support and tools for the campers, we also have a lot of fun. There are options for swimming, horseback riding, and many other fun activities!

Healing from grief is laughter as well as tears. We have a good mixture of both.

Hospice has been putting on the camp for many years.  If you know of a child/youth who would benefit from our camp give our Bereavement Coordinator a call at 262.0453 or stop by the office at 35911 Kenai Spur Hwy, Unit 9, Soldotna, AK and pick up an application, OR download a copy of the application and drop it off at the office.

Volunteers are always welcome, contact Lee at the office if you would like to join our team.

At camp there is a time to Share,
There is a time to Play,
There is a time to Care.
And remember: Laughter and Hugs are healing, too.
